Here’s a great selection of pics from last Sunday’s Martini Lounge, in its sumptuous new home of St George’s Hall’s small concert room. It proved to be a more than fitting venue for the high class burlesque night, which ended up being a perfect way to spend Halloween. Boasting special appearances from American burlesque queens Kitten de Ville (LA) and Dirty Martini (New York), the night’s line up also featured Martini Lounge founder Millie Dollar (natch), her usual compere Fred Bear, devilishly good ukulele impressario, the hilarious Des O’Connor (really), and Velma Bon Bon.
The Martini Lounge isn’t a place to do things by halves – tickets aren’t cheap and there’s the option of enjoying a three course meal and exclusive performances before the show. But to that end, it attracts dedicated fans for whom burlesque fashion and lifestyle is quite a big deal. So it’s a superbly glamorous night in pretty glamorous company. Their next show, on December 11, promises a festive theme that is sure to suit it down to the ground. See www.martinilounge.co.uk for more details.
Thanks to Ina Glow for the pics.

Yes, I know there’s one planned for February and assume there’ll be more announced in the new year – keep an eye on http://www.martinilounge.co.uk/.
