MADE UP is a blog that attempts to cram in as wide a variety of news, reviews and interviews on theatre happenings in Liverpool as possible.

I’m a journalist and press officer who founded the site in July 2010. I’ve been writing about arts and culture in the region for more than a decade; I am a former arts editor of the Liverpool Daily Post, and former staffer on the Liverpool Echo among others.

As a freelancer I have had work published in The Guardian, Liverpool Confidential, Seven Streets, Powerplay magazine and Culture 24; taught workshops with primary school age children across the North West, and worked for PR companies including Kenyon Fraser (Liverpool, Leeds) and M2 Communications (London, USA).

I am a board member of the Independents Biennial and the secretary of the Merseyside branch of the National Union of Journalists.
