Liverpool’s newest comedy club, the Comedy Cellar at Magnet at Hardman Street, opened its doors at the weekend and promises a line up of some of the circuit’s top talent.
TV names including Gary Delaney, Rob Rouse and Justin Moorhouse, and international stars such as Peter White from Canada and Benny Boot from Australia, are just some of the artists who will be appearing during the club’s opening season.
Big Comedy UK, producers of the annual Southport Comedy Festival, are the driving force behind the venture. Director Brendan Riley (pictured) has more than 20 years experience in the industry, both as a comedian and promoter, and was one of the regular compères at the Rawhide Comedy Club.
“I have always enjoyed performing in Liverpool and am very excited to be involved in this project. With its low ceiling and cool vibe, the Magnet is the perfect venue for comedy. It will be a joy to play,” he said.
The Liverpool Comedy Cellar is open every Saturday Night and tickets are £12. Visit liverpoolcomedycellar.com for more info.
