ONE-MAN show Bottleneck is a coming-of-age story about a teenage boy growing up in Liverpool in the late 80s. Luke Barnes’s 2012 play, first performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, comes to the city next week in a revival from upcoming company Hiding Place Theatre.
Bottleneck tells the story of 14-year-old Greg. He hates school. Girls are weird. Liverpool FC are everything. Greg kills time playing footie, rowing with Dad and running away from the bizzies, all while waiting for the next big LFC game – but one day everything changes. Life will never be the same again, for him or the city…
The piece will be performed by city actor Daniel Cassidy – last seen wowing audiences as part of the cast of the acclaimed Those Two Weeks at the Unity. It is directed by YEP graduate Chantell Walker.
Catch it at the Hope Street Theatre from Wednesday (July 18) to Saturday (July 21). Tickets are available from the Ticketquarter website.
