The full cast has been announced for the upcoming UK tour of the international smash hit musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert, which parks up at the Liverpool Empire from January 25 to 30 next year.
Joining the previously announced Jason Donovan (*cheers*), who reprises the role of Tick, are Simon Green as Bernadette, Adam Bailey as Felicia and Philip Childs as Bob.
Donovan played the role of Tick when the show originally opened in the West End, and on its subsequent tour in 2013 (including Empire dates). His other West End credits include the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. His touring credits include everything from Captain Von Trapp to Frank N Furter.
Priscilla is the heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship and end up finding more than they could have ever dreamed of. With a dazzling array of outrageous costumes and a parade of dancefloor classics including I Will Survive, Say a Little Prayer, Go West, and of course, MacArthur Park…
…it is, they say, “a journey to the heart of FABULOUS!”, which will do MADEUP just fine.
The show originally opened in Australia, and after a sell-out two year run opened in the West End followed by Broadway. It has won numerous awards all over the world, including Oliviers and Tonys.
Priscilla Queen of the Desert is written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott, and directed by Simon Phillips. Here’s our review from last time.
