Friday May 10 will see the Capstone Theatre host a unique performance from Latin jazz stalwarts Cubana Bop, who will be performing songs from West Side Story with their own twist.
Featuring special guest singers Paul Roberts of The Stranglers and Swingle Sisters’ Jo Riley, the much loved Bernstein–Sondheim originals have been arranged by band leader and pianist Terry Seabrook for audiences to experience in a whole new way. You’ll get them all: Maria, Tonight, I feel Pretty, Somewhere, America, Officer Krupke, Something’s Coming and more.
Formed in 1995, Cubana Bop have toured the UK extensively, released three albums and supported US artists such as Pucho and The Latin Soul Brothers. Their most recent project, Milestones, incorporates performances of Miles Davis’ best-selling jazz album Kind of Blue.
Concert goers are reminded that this show is not performed as a musical.
Tickets are available from the box office on 0844 8000 410 or online at www.thecapstonetheatre.com.
